The Safeguarding for Managers Training Course is designed for managers and senior leaders in various sectors who have a responsibility for safeguarding within their organisations. This course provides an in-depth understanding of safeguarding principles, focusing on the strategic and operational aspects of managing safeguarding practices. Participants will learn how to implement effective safeguarding policies, lead safeguarding teams, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.   • Introduction to Safeguarding: Overview of safeguarding principles and their importance in organisational settings. Understanding the manager's role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring effective safeguarding practices.
  • Legal and Regulatory Framework: Examination of relevant legislation and guidelines, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, the Care Act 2014, and Working Together to Safeguard Children. Understanding statutory responsibilities and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguarding Policies and Procedures: Development and implementation of comprehensive safeguarding policies and procedures. Ensuring that policies are up-to-date, accessible, and effectively communicated to all staff.
  • Risk Management and Assessment: Techniques for identifying and assessing risks related to safeguarding. Implementing strategies to mitigate risks and protect both individuals and the organisation.
  • Leadership and Management: Skills for leading and managing safeguarding teams, including providing support and supervision. Creating a safeguarding culture within the organisation and promoting best practices.
  • Training and Development: Planning and delivering safeguarding training for staff. Ensuring that staff are adequately trained and aware of their safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Incident Management: Procedures for managing safeguarding incidents, including how to respond to concerns, conduct investigations, and take appropriate action. Understanding the role of managers in supporting and guiding staff through the process.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Methods for monitoring and evaluating safeguarding practices and policies. Conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
