    • Decision-Making and Best Interests: Understanding the process for making decisions on behalf of individuals who lack capacity, including the concept of 'best interests', and how to involve the individual, their family, and other relevant parties in the decision-making process.
    • Introduction to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS): Explanation of the DoLS framework, including criteria for deprivation of liberty, the assessment process, and the role of the supervisory body in authorising DoLS applications.
    • Practical Application of DoLS: Case studies and practical scenarios to illustrate how to apply DoLS principles in real-world situations, including documentation, assessment, and review processes.
    • Introduction to Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS): Overview of the forthcoming LPS framework, including its aims to replace DoLS, key differences from DoLS, and the new responsibilities for care providers under LPS.
